Welcome to Cloud9 Calm: What I Do + WTF Is Website Hosting?

Hey! I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m Erin — a developer, small business supporter, and recovering overthinker who believes getting your business online shouldn’t feel like solving a Rubik’s Cube blindfolded. I started Cloud9 Calm to help people (just like you) feel confident about your website without needing to know how to code, configure a server, or cry into your coffee when something breaks.

Whether you’re building your first website or already running a business, I’m here to keep things simple, chill, and a little bit fun.

So… What
Is
 Website Hosting, Anyway?

Let’s break it down: every website needs two things to exist online:

A domain name: that’s your website’s address (like cloud9calm.com)
Website hosting: that’s where your website lives

Think of it like this:
Your domain is your street address.
Your hosting is the actual house.
Without hosting, your domain has nowhere to point — it’s just a pretty name floating in space.

Website hosting is what stores all your site’s files (like images, code, and text) and makes them accessible to people around the world 24/7. When someone types your domain into a browser, your hosting service makes sure your website shows up — fast, safe, and looking cute.

Why It Matters (and Why I Do What I Do)
A lot of people feel overwhelmed by the idea of setting up a website — and honestly, that’s fair. Tech can be confusing, and some platforms don’t make it any easier. That’s where I come in.

I offer website hosting that’s:

Fast and reliable (so your site doesn’t randomly disappear)
Secure (because hackers are gross)
Supported by someone real — no endless tech support loops

I also build custom websites and share easy-to-follow tips here (not “blog” tips — ew — just good, helpful stuff). My goal is to make sure you feel empowered, not overwhelmed, when it comes to your digital presence.

What’s Next?

Stick around for website tips, beginner guides, and answers to questions you’ve maybe been too afraid to ask out loud (like “what’s the difference between a domain and a subdomain?” or “how do I even pick a host?”).

Let’s make the internet a little more beautiful — one no-stress website at a time.
